We have all been reading comics since childhood and now these webcomics are taking the web by storm. Anton Gudim a Russian artist has been making some dark and sarcastic illustrations that you will need to see twice to completely understand them. While some of these sarcastic illustrations are just plain absurd and a little disturbing while others are an interesting social commentary. And no doubt whichever it is, they are going to take some time for you to figure them out completely.
The artist is from Moscow and has been illustrating for as long as he can remember. “I drew all my life. In childhood, at school, in college. I would draw cards and silly comics for my friends. It was always just a hobby for me because I have a technical education. I was always good at maths,” Anton said.
While to many of you it may seem that these sarcastic illustrations are a biting critique of our modern society, Gudim doesn’t have a particular motive or aim. All these ideas come naturally to him. He says “At first my comics were just a way to discover the depths of my imagination. But I’m glad that they can inspire and entertain other people. I am not out to make people laugh, but I do believe that it’s important for artists to add a little humor to their works.”
Anton is currently working full-time as an engineer but he would surely love to turn his passion for Sarcastic Illustrations into his profession. For now, he just makes them in his free time.
